NYT: Doughnut Plant Brooklyn opens

Florence Fabricant reports in the New York Times Food “Off the Menu”:
DOUGHNUT PLANT As soon as Mark Isreal opened a Brooklyn branch of his popular Manhattan doughnut place, it was swamped by long lines. The new shop has counter seating and sells most of his yeast and cake classics. A new Brooklyn blackout variety has a chocolate pudding filling and a dusting of cake crumbs. Mr. Isreal said that he and his father, Marvin, who is a potter, replicated some of the building’s original tiles and have used them to decorate the counter area: 245 Flatbush Avenue (Bergen Street), Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.

  1. I need to make these! I love donuts! I’ve tried in the past but using two direeffnt-sized biscuit cutters was a pain. I need to look into pans. I know a few small town kitchen stores that would carry such an animal.
